ABOUT THE EVENT

Girl Gamers Day is a one-day schools esports event designed to create a welcoming and inclusive space for girls and gender-diverse students who enjoy gaming.


Hosted by The Array, students will represent their school and compete in friendly esports matches across a range of popular games including Rocket League, Mario Kart, Just Dance and more.


Girl Gamers Day celebrates positive gaming culture and provides an opportunity for students from across Darwin schools to play, compete, and connect in a supportive environment.


The event will be held at the CDU Radicle Centre in Darwin City, from 9am to 2pm.


School Registrations:

Schools or teachers interested in registering a team (up to 12 participants per school), please email support@thearray.gg to secure a place.

Registrations close MAY 9th.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL DO

• Play a range of games including Rocket League, Mario Kart and Just Dance.
• Work together with teammates during tournament matches
• Rotate between different gaming stations throughout the day
• Meet and connect with students from other schools
• Represent their school in a positive esports environment

The event aims to encourage more girls and gender-diverse students to engage with technology, esports, and STEM pathways.

WHO IS IT FOR

  • Girls and gender-diverse students in years 7–11

  • Students with an interest in gaming, esports, or technology

  • Schools looking to provide students with inclusive STEM opportunities

  • No prior esports competition experience is required — students of all skill levels are welcome.

EVENT FORMAT

  • Schools arrive by 9AM

  • Game Rounds: Rotate through different game stations and earn points for their school.

  • Break & Lunch: Catered lunch provided by The Array (students BYO snacks).

  • Final Rounds & prizes awarded to the winners, finishing by 2PM.

What should participants bring?

A water bottle and any snacks/lunch needed for longer sessions. Everything else is provided unless stated otherwise.

Do participants need prior experience?

Most programs are beginner-friendly unless stated otherwise. If an event requires experience, it will be listed in the Quick Facts.

What equipment is provided?

All computers, software and equipment required for the session are provided onsite at The Array unless stated otherwise.

Where are programs held?

Programs and events are held at The Array Learning Dojo in Darwin (unless a different location is listed on the page).
